We encounter them in daily life yet couldn't comprehend them to use it for our benefit, where as big organization use it for their advantage (amazon trying to predict what its user might be interested - example of regression) . One problem is, these subjects are explained by mathematicians for mathematicians, this article from http://www.betterexplained,com explains that in simple language

I have never read such a simple, concise and effective introduction to Statistics and Probability. But the cardinal relationship between them is not mentioned. Data (Observation) → Statistical Inference → Model → Probability Distribution → Data (Prediction).

Next time I need to explain probability and statistics to a teenager or younger, I will definitely use this resource. It is like having Greek and Latin finally translated to English

@Manigandan- Thank you for providing the avenue that cured my head ache with the subject. In school I could never get past the pure conjectural nature of Prob & Stats, I always struggled with a way to make it less monotonous, and I have found It! Truly a new perspective on the Mathematical world in general!

Ever wondered how the elusive phenomena of Imagination and Creativity work? Similar to how faulty cell division drives Evolution, mental models and imperfections there in lead to Imagination and Creativity.

Essentially our brain is a hyper efficient statistical and probability engine. When we naturally learn anything we observe objects around us and create models of them in our memory.

Now imagination works by combining these models in our consciousness and iteratively deducing the probable behavior of each model in steps.

But when these mental models deviate they lead to erroneous deductions. When such erroneous deductions are interesting they surface as creative thoughts.
