The Curious Case of Homeopathy...
There has never been a physiologic model or a logical explanation for the therapeutic effects of Homeopathic remedies. Yet millions will swear by the effectiveness of these drugs thanks to the Placebo effect. Homeopathy stands as a live testament to this puzzling phenomenon.
Homeopathy goes to great lengths to justify the therapeutic effect of its remedies by attributing mythical powers to water and other solvents used in their formulations. They call it the 'Memory Effect'.
There is also a $1 Million prize for anybody who can scientifically prove the effectiveness of homeopathic remedies. To date it remains unclaimed. [1]

You may wanna explore a very powerful new presence in the Placebo industry - Dr. Alex Loyd, pioneer of The Healing Codes :)

The whole 'Healing Code' thing looks like a scam to me. Now they are talking about 'Success Codes'.....what next....'God Codes'? I cant help but pity the ignorance of those flocking to these things. For millennia god-men have been fooling people on similar lines. People never seem to have enough of them.

This is your attitude towards "new ideas" here at Talkonomy, the idea site? This may be the man's life's work. He has big names supporting him, which is rarely easy to do. Have you spoken with Alex Loyd? have you gave his ideas a proper TRY before slamming it? Interesting...

Come on Jason, Mr. (Dr.) Loyd claims to have received this information from God in a divine vision. Want more, he has turned this into a profitable business. Coming to big names, in this wild wild world anything is possible. We all have personally witnessed the leaders of big nations court god-men for various reasons on various occasions. In my honest opinion this is a scam.

I was under the impression Talkonomy was a place that *welcomed* new ideas, not labelled them as scams at but a glance. Perhaps I was mistaken, it happens. This probably doesn't mean anything to someone who derides possible healing revolutions... But many of the incredible things we enjoy today came about by men who claimed called by God. Mother Teresa & Gandhi's peace-work. Martin Luther King. Artists who here Divine music. Men who have transformed the world with their ideas and execut

Well Jason, its my personal opinion which should not be confused with the philosophy behind Talkonomy. Talkonomy respects and empowers everybody's ideas and encourages a debate. Here you have as much say as anybody else including me. My words here represent my personal judgement and opinion and nothing more.

Ah, I see :) Then I can share some personal feelings of my own: When I suggest ppl "may wanna check out Alex Loyd's Healing Codes" & the response is a relatively intense, calling it a 'scam', with seemingly no personal contact with the material... I personally dont find that "personal judgment & opinion" pleasant, welcoming, or encouraging. I have TONS of cool ideas, but when I see a place filled with snap judgments, I certainly am not thinking "YES this is the place for ME to share!"

I think that you misconstrue the whole purpose of the story which is on placebo effects using Dr. Lloyd's work as an example. Placebo's have been around since the dark ages and beyond in both the medical field and in society. The effectiveness, in my opinion, falls in the Quantum world

A placebo by definition does not directly affect the course of a condition. Its effect is completely dependent on reinforcing the subject's belief that he is being cured. If the effect of a substance or a method can be attributed to some unknown elusive phenomenon (ex. Quantum Physics) that substance is no longer a placebo but a drug whose pharmacodynamics are yet to be determined.

But the realm of our perception even in a placebo is highly influenced by the Quantum world and the position of the Observer, for the Observer must be very complacent with what is seen on the surface

I am quite puzzled by the relation between quantum mechanics and placebo effect. Are you theorizing, correlating some observations or extrapolating the effects of quantum forces? As far I could inquire into quantum physics, its scope is limited to subatomic particles and cannot be applied beyond the realms of an atom. Can you please elaborate on this, may be in a post, to help us understand your ideas.

Contd.. References to any studies/empirical-evidence will be even more helpful.
