'You gotta be kidding me!' I say this because, there seems to be no limit to how inexpensive smartphones can get these days. They are not particularly 'cheap', as they come packed with state of the art technologies inside. Beating Kogan Arora at its game, is the new Karbonn S1 Titanium. The mouthful name aside, it brings a quad-core Qualcomm 1.2GHz processor in a nicely styled package for a jaw-dropping price of 150 Euros. That does not break the 150$ price of Kogan Arora, but beats it with a faster processor. This phone is available for pre-order in India. While this is an interesting product, it doen't support 3G mobile networks. Looks like Karbonn has traded 3G in favor of dual sim.

No sure how the battery behave when it uses 1.2 GHz processor and Nokia lumia 510 which has lesser processing capacity may compete on its price..

Having a faster processor may not hurt battery life so much. The newer processors are made to consume about the same amount of energy as their predecessors. Nokia Lumia 510 suffers from being a Windows phone whose ecosystem cannot compete with that of Android.

Nokia 510 is a budget device with budget features whereas the above one is a budget device with better than budget features

Looks like "Law of Diminishing Returns" has kicked in and companies can no longer differentiate with higher specs (Read 1080p screens, 2 GHz Quad Core Processors, 2 GB Ram, etc.) which do not add much to end user experience. Finally it will boil down to competing on price for similarly specced devices and consumers shall rejoice :-)
